St. Catherine Laboure School is an extension of the faith community of the parish. The philosophy of St. Catherine Laboure School is to develop the child as a person with unique abilities and needs. Quality education is stressed at S.C.L. Our Catholic school environment promotes spiritual, intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth while nurturing the self-esteem and self-confidence so vital to learning. The child is encouraged to realize full potential through inquiry, creativity, and action. Through integration of spiritual values and high academics, the child is challenged to be a concerned and active individual committed to society, present, and future. The school program begins for a child three years of age by September 1st of the school year of registration and continues through eighth grade. The principal welcomes all families in the parish to observe in the school and discuss the value of Catholic education and the academic program of St. Catherine Laboure School. For more information concerning the school and an opportunity to meet the principal and staff, contact the Principal, Laurie Konicek, at 724-2240.

SCHOOL BOARD

The purpose of the St. Catherine Laboure ("SCL") School Board is to promote the effective program of Christian, intellectual, cultural, social, and physical education for the children of SCL by developing, defining, and evaluating policies for the operation of SCL Elementary School ("School"). The policies are consistent with the Elementary School Policies as promulgated and published by the Archdiocese of Chicago, Office of Catholic Education. The Board considers and, when appropriate, adopts and implements additional policies designed to promote the overall development of the School. In addition, the duties of the Board include public relations, recruitment and financing the operation of the School; these duties are discharged through committees, e.g. Alumni, Budget, Computer, Fundraising, Legislative Affairs, Marketing, Scholarship and Tuition Collection. Regular meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. in the School library/computer lab on the fourth Monday of each month; regular meetings are open to SCL parishioners and parents of School children. Contact David Samuels at 847-724-0856 for more information.

SCL PARENT CLUB

The Parent Club of St. Catherine Laboure School has one general meeting in a school year. Fund-raising activities are planned and implemented by the Parent Club to raise additional funds for school programs and materials. All school parents are considered members of the SCL Parent Club by virtue of the fact that they have children attending our parish school. Contact Rita Nowak for more information at 847-657-6578.

BOOSTER CLUB

The Booster Club is an organization that consists of parents, faculty members, and the principal whom support the school, as well as, the athletic programs provided by St. Catherine Laboure. The club meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. All meetings are open to everyone and anyone is welcomed to join this organization. Booster Club has two fund-raisers during the year -- Oktoberfest is held in the fall and the Walk-A-Thon takes place in late Spring. The money that is raised helps us provide an efficient athletic program for the students of St. Catherine Laboure and maintain Marian Hall. The athletic program has a no-cut policy and as a result of the fundraisers is offered free of charge for the interested students at SCL.
