Sacraments & Services

BAPTISM

Arrangements for the reception of this Sacrament should be made in advance at the Rectory. There is a short training session for all parents before the Baptism. The Sacrament is celebrated at Masses on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month or at 12:30 p.m. Click here for Requirements and Baptism form.  Call 847-729-1414 for more details.

PENANCE -- SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION

Confessions are heard on Saturdays from 4:00 to 4:45 p.m. and by appointment. Traditional form of confession is available as well as a private Penance in the Reconciliation room, for those who prefer not to express themselves in this manner. If these hours are not convenient, please call the Rectory at 847-729-1414 to arrange for a more convenient time.

EUCHARIST -- FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

This is the most holy Sacrament of the Church and its celebration requires adequate preparation. Children receive their first Holy Communion in the second grade where they are prepared through their regular classes in school or in the Religious Education Program.

CONFIRMATION

Confirmation is the Sacrament in which a Christian recommits himself to the promise made for him at Baptism. Our students are prepared to receive this Sacrament during their 8th grade in school or through the Religious Education Program. Adults who have not been confirmed should contact the Rectory at 847-729-1414 for instructions.

MATRIMONY -- THE SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE

This is the Sacrament by which the Church joyfully joins a couple in celebrating the gift of love. The couple is asked to contact the priest at least 4 months in advance. To prepare for their new life together, they must attend a Pre-Cana conference. Call 847-729-1414 for more information.

SACRAMENT OF THE SICK

The Sacrament of the Sick emphasizes the healing power of Christ. Therefore, the sick, the elderly, and those facing surgery are encouraged to receive this anointing. Please watch the bulletin for details on communal anointing.

HOSPITAL AND HOME VISITS

The priests, deacons, and lay ministers of the parish are more than happy to visit any parishioner who is ill -- whether at home or in the hospital. Please call the Rectory at 847-729-1414 since the hospitals often neglect to notify us.

FUNERALS

Please notify the Rectory when a member dies so that the priest may minister to the needs of the family and assist them in planning the Liturgy of the Resurrection; this includes wake service, Eucharistic liturgy and final commitment at the cemetery. Please call 729-1414 to make arrangements.

CHAPEL

In the Holy Family Chapel, there is perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. It is a place for prayer and meditation. You may sign up for a special time or just make a visit - day or night. (Entrance Code is #1340). Children are always welcome. For more information, contact Evie Ulivieri at 847-724-6291
